BUILT ON LEGACY | LEAD WITH LOVE |

“The amazing individuals and families I’ve worked with over the last decade are the why behind Commonwealth Connections. Our mission is simple: create a community where everyone is welcome, everyone has purpose, and everyone is treated with love, kindness, and respect.”

Commonwealth Connections was founded by Sarah Roby to be a place where adults with disabilities are treated like family—because that’s how her own family always did it.

Sarah’s mother was a special education teacher. So was Sarah. Her sister, Meghan, still works in the field today. Her father served this community in his own quiet way, and even her brother Will shares a heart for this work. Their grandparents set the tone—welcoming everyone into their home with openness and dignity, including individuals with disabilities, long before inclusion had a name.

When you add it all up, their family has more than 200 years of collective experience supporting people with disabilities. That kind of legacy can’t be manufactured. It’s lived.

This is the foundation Commonwealth Connections is built on.

The spark that ignited this agency came from a moment that couldn’t be ignored. Years ago, Sarah sat with a woman named “Mary”, who had been left alone in a dark room by another agency. Mary, through tears, quietly said, “If I died tomorrow and never came back, no one would miss me.” That moment broke something open—and it lit a fire to build a place where no one would ever feel that way again.

Our Approach

  • We stay small on purpose—because quality matters more than quantity.

  • We build homes, not just programs.

  • We hire people who treat this work like a calling, not a clock-in.

  • We center everything we do around dignity, love, and legacy.

We exist for the Marys of the world—the ones who feel forgotten, overlooked, or alone. The ones whose value has never been properly seen.

Here, they are seen. Celebrated. Supported. And loved.

That’s what sets us apart.

That’s why we’re here.
